If you were asked to go to a Real Estate Investment Seminar?

investment seminars
The Cat for President asked:

by an Escrow Officer that you knew and it was only an hour and a half, would you go?
Sorry, I meant to add that I know the people who are putting the seminar on and it’s NOT a scam.

Probably NOT ~ it is a “ploy” to get you hooked on buying into a real estate deal. Many of which are BIG SCAMS.

If you aren’t educated in Real Estate or Investment Property ~ don’t go cause you’ll get scammed into investing and probably lose it all.

If it is such a great thing, why do they need SEMINARS to get & hook people?????????????

NO NO NO. I have been to one of these; The pressure to buy was terrible and they did not provide the gifts.

Do I have to pay for it? Even then I would probably not go. Too many scams out there. Lots of people use these seminars to sucker in their prey. They advertise that there is a secret way to get rich. They will get up and talk about how poor they used to be or how many times they failed in life. They were let in on a secret or they figured it out themselves and with no money were able to build an empire. They now talk about how well they are doing and even include slides of vacations around the world and stuff. Next they will discuss some investment strategies like real estate or stock market that sound valid. During this they will also drop hints about their system to make money in these areas. They will discuss how to buy property or stock and turn around and sell it for profit but you need to know exactly what property or stock to buy and how to increase its value. Finally, they will say that they have other seminars that you can attend (for only $10,000) that give the secret. Or that you can buy their $5000 software system that will help you pick the winners. Or they try to get you to sign up for their $2000 a year monthly newsletter that gives the picks. In the end, they really give you no information but just try to get you to give them your money.

Don’t believe that it is not a scam just because and escrow officer is going. Lots of people fall for scams. A bookkeeper for the Michigan law firm Olsman Mueller & James fell for a nigerian bank scam and embezzled $2.1 million from the company because he was expecting a $4.5 million payout. Robert Andrew Street, a financial advisor, stole over $1 million from his clients because he was expecting a $65 million payout from a nigerian bank scam. A treasurer for Alcona County in Michigan fell for a nigerian bank scam and stole more than $1.2 million. Just because the person is an escrow officer does not mean that this seminar is not a scam.

You added “Sorry, I meant to add that I know the people who are putting the seminar on and it’s NOT a scam.”

That would mean that this is nothing more than spam. You are not wanting to know what people think about it. You are wanting to get people interesting in coming. This alone indicates that it is a scam. Avoid anything where the people promoting have to say that it is not a scam because if they do that then it is more than likely a scam.

One question:
Is he hot? If yes, then go.
Also, will there be open bar, free disco dancing, go-go dancers, a hot tub, and naked wrestling?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you should run (not walk) to your car.

YOU BET,, I have never gone to one of these things without learning something that has helped me in the business, and make money. Spent many hours listening to others and grew from it.. You can always discount the stuff you don’t like, but What do you have to loose.

People that make a decision not to go, have no idea what they could pass up. I have sat thru one or two, that market the same ideas and actions that I used in my growth for rags to riches..

Who you going to listen to,, poor guys, or wage earners, or someone that has been there done that and become rich??
