Has anyone taken the Investools classes? Did you get your money’s worth & are you successful at investing?

I just went to the free introductory seminar for Investools last week and want to go through the training. I can’t take the classes yet until I save the $2,000. I believe the tools will probably work, but I want to hear how the training has helped someone else who has gone through it. I’m a beginning investor who is just starting out with $500 and I research stocks and read the charts on free websites. I use the Phil Town “Rule #1″ investment strategies, which I’ve found out are very much the same as what Investools teaches. Will the classes be worth it?

There’s not much point, when you can learn all you need to know for free from sites such as:

and not waste money you could have better spent putting it towards stock & opening an account @ Sharebuilder.com

I’ve taken the class, and I would say it’s a qualified yes. I think for someone managing a large portfolio it could help increase your returns, but for someone with a smaller portfolio the class tuition would be too large a percentage of your investing dollars. If you’re talking about saving up for the course, you probably won’t have much left over after that to put what you learn into practice.
They have a nice website that is good for having everything available quickly and easily, but if you’re willing to spend more time you could probably assemble most of it from other sites. But if you figure that the efficiency means you can sort through more stocks in the same amount of time, that by itself could raise your returns.
