How do i know if this investment is a scam?
well they have tones of seminars, dvds and u pay them to show u different stratergies. they even tell u, u can invest in the same shares as them. all of the stradergies seem logical and seem like they would work, and the y suggest brokers for u to go to but u dont have to, so i dont think it is a scam but how can i be sure is there like a list of scammers or can i ring up someone or wat!!

I have an intellectual property that I have been giving a webinar on and would like to reach a large customer base.
The emails I have sent have had a great response but now I am looking at having to buy lists and I don’t want to send emails unsolicited.
I have a website going up this week end http://www.daytrading-system.net …and a seminar in los Angeles the following. My question is how to market this without a lot of money for advertising?
Are there any suggestions for user groups? investment groups? We would like to take this around the country. Do you think we could find hosts in cities to work with us?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. We have only marketed organically and have had 60 attendants in 3 seminars. I would really like to push this up higher. The results for the participants have been quite good. Some participants are making more than their social security checks in an hour in the morning.
thanks for your suggestions.

This for comparison sake of the pros and consof different investments compared to say indexed or fixed annuities.
In the office or in a seminar… and be in compliance with NASD rules-tho they do not regulate ins agents not NASD lisc?
Can you disscuss generalities ie assett allocation and risk without giving specific investment advice on say funds etc? Fees-can you mention ??
Again: compliance for agents with state Ins lic only without NASD lisc…the dos and donts to stay kosher!

I graduated from a Top 10 MBA program 16 years ago with a Finance degree. Unfortunately at that time there was no emphasis on finance majors taking the CFA exam. I worked for several years as a financial analyst, consultant and later as an ERP software analyst. Along the way I started an import/export business (doing it full time for past 5 years). I got into investing right after starting my business.
However, the itch to learn more about investment management was always there, but I had too many other things keeping me occupied and busy in life. After attending a seminar, I recently purchased the Stalla materials for the Dec. 2007 exam and have been studying them for the past 3 weeks. I now realize that I would be crazy to take this test in December, as there are a lot of things I have forgotten that I need to review as well as some family commitments that will limit my time for the next 2 months.
Any words of wisdom from people who have sat for the CFA exam?
Thanks

There is a recruitment seminar in my area this Wednesday and I’m thinking of going. Someone told me to be careful because they’ll ask you to sell to you friends and relatives. Has anyone out there gone to one of these seminars? What’s it like? Does anyone work for David Lerner Associates? What’s it like? What do you actually do?
Thanks for all your help!

With my intention to make money, I started attending different real estate seminars, seeing properties, deals and so on from January 2007. This had some expense involved such as car mileage and education cost. I also bought my first investment rental property in August 2007. However, most of the expense such as car mileage and education cost were misc expense for real estate business and not directly related to this rental property. My question is how can I show my expenses which are not directly related to this investment rental property but they are misc/general real estate business?
1- Should I show all the miscellaneous/general real estate business expenses against this investment rental property in schedule E?
2- or should I have another column saying “Miscellaneous real estate expense” in schedule E and show miscellaneous expenses there, but this will have zero income as rental income is only from rental property?
3- or is there another way to show misc real estate expense?
