Did any of you attended real estate investment seminars paying lots of money, and got burned?
Pluto asked:
I know couple of people who did this (purchase and flip) and ended up losing about $20k. They are feeling real bad, because many people warned them.

I also know some people that did this and lost out. Most of those investment seminars are a scam. Just ask yourself. If you knew some way to invest and make tons of money without a lot of effort would give your secret away to others? No one would.
I don’t feel to bad for them.
What in the world are people thinking investing their hard earned money with hucksters????
Why is it so unpopular now days to actually earn money?
Seminars are to make the seminar holders money. Come on, you should never have to pay for good quality investment advise. You go to a realtor and they will plunk you and your money into the best deal around every day of the week.
You go to a convention center to make a real estate investment!!!
What on earth are people thinking???
I went to a free one and I still go sometimes, they offer food, organizers and books, sometimes. And if your sneaky enough you can even get the Hotline numbers and really find out if they help or don’t. I called and they knew less then I did. Its sad that people paid $1000 for the “course” Also I usually go to before buying anything by phone or online. And the only way you end up in the seminar is by the infomercial.
