How to get business line of credit?
Bob w asked:
I have excellent credit but am trying to establish business line of credit to fuel my RE investment business. Attended a brief seminar on the subject last night but not willing to pay $1,000 for the “package” that goes into detail. Can anyone point me to a website where I can learn the step-by-step details of how to develop unsecured lines of credit for my Sub S corporation?

I will hopefully be attending a seminar this Thursday in Austin, TX. I am just curious if anyone has first hand experience with receiving financial aid utilizing this act. I am currently seeking employment yet desperately eager to return to school. I currently am in default status from a previous student loan thus unable to apply through FASFA until the remaining $1500 is paid off. I have to make payments over 6 months as they want to see consistent payments. So paying it off early is not an option. I mention this before I receive answers telling me to go this route. Financially speaking, I should definitely be eligible. Thank you for your info.

Investment class in college?
lucstudent asked:
Had anyone taken an investment course in college?? Did you find the course helpful? When you invest, do you apply any of the applications taught in the course?? Right now, we’re learning how to calculate risk and probability. Does anyone even apply those calculations before they make an investment decision?

A coworker saw a flyer for a seminar for an investment that does not count against college financial aid. Or EFC calculation. He cannot find the flyer. Is anybody aware of this investment? Is this somekind of life insurance? Thank you.

I heard that investment interest are deductible against my income tax…is this true? I am planning to borrow a small amount of money from my family member to make investments into various blue chip stocks, and I will pay an interest of 5.75% per year to that person. Also, would I have to issue a 1099-INT for the family member I borrow the money from or would it not be necessary since I am borrowing the money on a individual level and not as a corporation/entity as part of ordinary course of business? Thank you for your help!!

I am planning on taking a solar technologies course this winter, and afterwards, I’m planning on opening up a company, that sells, and installs for people, and in which case we would also be envolved with the windmills. I’m just wondering if this would be a good investment, and if people in Canada think its something that they would be interested in having?

I audited a seminar given by an investment firm in Marina Del Rey. The speaker insisted that oil-drilling partnerships can lead to riches. He spoke of inflation, increasing oil prices, and the devaluation of the dollar. Yet the initial investment is several thousand. Is this worth it?

kids currently get $850 investment income without taxes. If this year that make only 50 in dividends and cap gain distributions, but stock price went up equivalent to $1000, can I declare (850-50) or $800 in captital gains? Effectively increasing the basis. This of course would get me to 850 total investment income. The next question would be can I then not file a tax form since I’m below 850? Thanks
